What to see and do
Main Attractions

Located at the very edge of the harbour, these historic locations are well worth a visit if you like your sightseeing and history. The Castle is open to all at a very cheap price. A walk onto the roof gives you fantastic views of the harbour, aswell as the crystal clear waters and the distant hills inland.
The mosiacs entrance is located to the right hand side behind the bars and restaurants that line the harbour near the castle. Be warned, if visiting on a very hot day make sure you have a hat and plenty of water as there is very little shade. There is plenty of walking ahead if you wish to visit each historic location in a single visit. If you head right eventually you will come across the Paphos Odeon which can seat 1200 spectators, it still holds theatrical performances. The other side of the site you can visit the remarkable mosaics in the houses of Dionysos, Theseus and Aion. The mosaics show scenes from Greek mythology, dating from the 2nd and 5th century AD and are still is fantastic condition.
Paphos harbour is a great place to explore and relax. Lined with restaurants, bars and panoramic views of the sea you will find everything you need to keep you entertained. Hire a boat for your own private mini cruise on the waters, sign up for watersports adventures and even visit Debenhams! Near the harbour castle there is a small museum which hosts many types of works from paintings to waxwork models.

I would recommend this place to everyone of all ages! My only warning is some of the walkways and steps are very old so good footwear is a must. The actual area is quite vast so make sure you dont miss anything out. As the name suggests, the area contains impressive underground tombs that date back to the 4th century BC. The tombs are carved out of solid rock, the larger tombs are very impressive and are decorated with Doric pillars. The tombs were for high officials rather than kings but the magnificence of the area gave it the name Tomb of the 'Kings'.
It can be quite a surreal feeling stood in dark underground tombs with little sunlight and seeing the tombs carved out of the rock. Do be careful where you walk as some tombs can be quite deep and dangerous. Also keep a look out for tiny lizards that like to run around.

Located inland above Kato Paphos, here you will find a large market and many large stores, aswell as local shops. As you can imagine there are many places to eat and relax. Don't plan to visit at around 2pm in the afternoon as the locals have their siesta which leaves you with very little to do other than eat and drink.

A fantastic waterpark with attractions for all the family. Located along the road from the go karting and mini golf it is easily accessible by the number 15 bus. The first thing you will notice as you arrive are the large slides towards the back of the park available for both adults and children. There is a very large wave pool which generates waves every hour for 15 minutes. Watch people run to the pool as soon as the horn sounds! There are a number of places to eat and relax under the sun. The lazy river is a good way to wind down after dinner.
There is a kiddies pool complete with slides and games. For the adults and the big kids there is the super volcano and wet bubbles which look alot of fun and giant adult slides to really get the heart pumping!
I recommend that you keep tight hold of your raft on busy days as you may struggle to get hold of another one.

Pop down to the harbour and you will find many locals offering you the chance to head out to sea. You can hire your very own boat and set sail with friends. The Jolly Roger, themed as a pirate ship, is alot of fun with onboard entertainment and a stop off in coral bay for swimming and snorkeling.
Larger boats head further along the coast to Limmasol and beyond. Evening trips are also availble so you can sit back and enjoy the gorgeous sunsets.

Coral bay is a fantastic stretch of beach located 6 miles up the coastline. All local boating trips dock here due to the crystal clear waters. There are many water sports on offer aswell as a snack bar which offers the usual burgers and sandwiches. A local DJ blasts out british music all day to keep you entertained. The sunbeds are cheap but beware of the very hot sand.
Other local attractions
Paphos Aquarium
You will find the aquarium above a shopping center along the main front of the harbour. In my view the best part of the aquarium were the giant coolers inside which were fantastic as it's very stuffy inside. Stand infront of one of them for a minute or two and you will feel refreshed! Don't expect anything up to the standards of a sealife centre but there is a small shark tank in the middle and all the usual tropical fish. At the very end there are 2 alligators/crocodiles in 2 small pens with little or no water. A small gift shop as you would expect. I personally wouldn't recommend visiting, unless you want to cool down!
Island Cove - Adventure Mini Golf
An 18 hole mini golf course with lots of water features and some testing holes. During peak times in the year the course is open till late under floodlights. Light refreshments are on offer. Well worth a game or two but the course is a little out of the way. Some all inclusive hotels offer guests a taxi service to the course.
Paphos Karting Centre
Located directly behind the mini golf, a fantasic go karting track complete with bridge and tunnel. Lap timing is also available. All different kinds of karts are available from Cadet Karts to Thunder Karts and quad bikes.
Cockatoos Bowling Centre
Located on bar street amongst all the bars and clubs. Not many lanes but during the evening the entire room is illuminated with glow lights which adds an extra dimension. Well worth a visit on a night out.
